Your Invitation To Get Involved in #MyLongCovidRock This March

This Long Covid Awareness Day (15th March 2025), we invite you to be part of something special. #MyLongCovidRock is a fun, low-energy, and creative project designed to raise awareness of Long Covid in children and young people, one small rock at a time.

We know that many of you are unwell, and we deeply appreciate any way you can take part whether that's painting a rock, sharing a post, or simply supporting the project in spirit. Every action, no matter how small, makes a difference.

Together, we are making paediatric Long Covid visible and reminding the world that children and young people need treatment, support, and care.

What Inspired #MyLongCovidRock?

This project was co-designed with young people living with Long Covid, who shared what "a rock" means to them:

"When thinking about my rock, I think about who or what has been my rock."
"Who can I lean on?"
"What has helped me manage?"
"A chance to say
what I want to say."
"This will be fun, I am looking forward to taking part."
"I am fed up with being ignored and having to explain Long Covid, I can show them the rock"

From these reflections, young people with lived experience agreed on two hashtags to celebrate both the community and the charity:

#MyLongCovidRock – A personal expression of support, strength, and awareness.

#LCKRocks – A celebration of Long Covid Kids, its community, and its impact.

Our Aim

Through this creative and meaningful project, we aim to:

✅ Raise awareness of Long Covid in children and young people.

✅ Spark conversations within communities and online.

✅ Ensure children and young people with Long Covid are seen, heard, and supported

✅ Create a fun and engaging project that unites young people around the world.

How We’ll Achieve This

We invite organisations around the world to partner with us and flood social media on March 15th; International Long Covid Awareness Day, and throughout March.

With a shared effort, we will amplify the voices of young people with Long Covid and make sure the world understands the impact of this condition.

How to Take Part in #MyLongCovidRock

Step 1: Find a rock. Big or small, smooth or rough - it’s up to you!

Step 2: Decorate it with images or messages that reflect hope, strength, or anything you choose.

Step 3: Place it somewhere meaningful - a bus stop, a park, a school, a hospital, an important local building, or a favourite walking spot.

Step 4: Snap a picture and share it using #MyLongCovidRock #LCKRocks #LongCovidAwareness to spread the message far and wide!

Step 5: Email us your picture to be included in our collective piece of advocacy artwork. info@longcovidkids.org

If you are lucky enough to find a rock, snap a picture and share it using #MyLongCovidRock #LongCovidAwareness to keep the movement going.

Every contribution, no matter how big or small, helps raise awareness and build understanding.

A Collective Piece of Advocacy Artwork Using Your Rocks

Every image shared will be collected and transformed into a collaborative piece of artwork coordinated by youth artist Rosie Pidgeon, capturing the messages and emotions expressed through this project.

This symbolic piece will serve as a powerful reminder that we are here and that children and young people around the world with Long Covid deserve to be seen, heard, and supported.

We will use this artwork in future advocacy efforts to ensure that the voices of children and young people living with Long Covid, and this community, are never forgotten.

Key Dates to Get Involved With #MyLongCovidRock

During February, and throughout March, please email us your pictures to ensure your #MyLongCovidRock is included in our collective piece of advocacy artwork

Join the Movement This March

We know that many of us in this community face daily challenges living with Long Covid, and we appreciate every effort, big or small, to help raise awareness.

Whether you create a rock, share a post, or simply support the project in spirit - your contribution matters.

Let’s work together to make paediatric Long Covid visible, start conversations, and ensure that children and young people receive the support and care they deserve.
