This is an opportunity for our members to ask questions, and gain insights from our legal team led by Jane Ryan of Bhatt Murphy. We will discuss our ongoing involvement in the UK COVID-19 Inquiry. This meeting will focus on Module 8 which specifically examines the impact on children.
Module 8 will consider whether the needs of children and young people were considered when the UK was preparing for the pandemic. It'll also look at decisions made during this time - and how these impacted upon the lives of children and young people.
That will mean that during this time - the inquiry will focus on areas such as:-
The impact of the Pandemic upon children and young people’s physical and mental health , access to healthcare services and wellbeing and development.
Education - How did the pandemic impact education ? It’ll have a good look at home-schooling and whether the resources were provided.
Family lives & social care - how these were impacted and the effect upon children and risk, young carers etc .
There’s a great page - where you can have a look in more detail as well
You will have an opportunity to ask questions about the topics due to be covered in module 8 .
Any questions submitted beforehand will go directly to our legal team - this will give them the best opportunity possible, to answer any questions that you may have .
Decisions made by the devolved administrations in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will also be scrutinised in this module of the inquiry - so please reach out !
This event will also give our legal team - A great opportunity to listen to those with lived experience - so that they can make sure that our children and young people received the representation that they deserve.
Please note registration is required for this Zoom event. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting and how to submit your questions to the team.
