Have you contacted your MSP? Scottish Parliament Debate on Long Covid, 19th May 2022.

Writer: Helen GossHelen Goss

Updated: Oct 11, 2022

On Thursday 19th May 2022, the Scottish Parliament will hold a second debate on Long Covid. Long Covid Kids' briefing note for MSPs outlines the main challenges and obstacles young people and their families report in our Support Services. Have you asked your MSP to support your family and attend the debate?

NEWS: Long Covid Kids shared a Briefing Note with MSPs in advance of the debate.

The first Long Covid debate in the Scottish Parliament took place on Tuesday 9th November 2021, and was led by Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Alex Cole-Hamilton. Unfortunately, since then, families are still reporting the same difficulties accessing care and support for their children as they did at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.

We hope our comprehensive briefing note will help to make a meaningful difference in this week's debate.

NEWS: Long Covid Kids signed a Long Covid Stakeholder Joint Statement

Long Covid Kids is proud to be a signatory on a joint stakeholder statement calling on the Scottish Government to ensure that people with lived experience of Long Covid are at the centre of policy, practice, and decision-making in developing services and supporting people with Long Covid.

LCK welcomes the increased engagement with the Scottish Government and NHS Scotland through 2022 and we hope to continue working together closely to urgently improve outcomes for Scotland's children living with Long Covid.
