If your child got spots on their fingers would you think COVID-19? What should parents look for?

Updated: Feb 10, 2021

There has never been a clear government campaign raising awareness of what parents should look for. Parents report a variety of symptoms after COVID-19 infection, not all of them affects breathing or involve a high temperature.

If your child got spots on their fingers would you think COVID-19?

Please sign our campaign that asks the government to help parents identify COVID-19.

"My daughter got very sore red finger tips - GP diagnosed an infection but we didn’t agree and held off the antibiotics (this was one of her first weird symptoms) we had a lot of peeling on all the kids hands and feet".

"My 12 year old got discoloured red/purple toes, swollen, sore itchy, peeling skin, nail bed infection, bumpy rashes. At times he couldn’t wear shoes it was that bad, it seems similar to chilblains symptoms in some ways. Bee propolis helped when he had bumpy erupting rashes, soaking his feet in Epsom salts soothed them, we also used magnesium sulphate to draw out any infections"

"My 8yo had nail bed infections"

"My 12 year old daughter has had three tests since her original infection in March- all negative. She and her 15 year old sister have re-emergence of cold-like symptoms quite often. Paediatric consultant says he thinks it's comparable to other post-viral syndrome patterns. Unfortunately, every time it happens, both girls go further backwards. This is also in keeping with post-syndrome apparently. I realise (as does he) that they just don't know enough yet"
