Sarah O Connell

Sarah has suffered from post viral ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome since 2013. She has a BA in Psychology and MA in Psychoanalytic Theory. Sarah has seen first hand the devastation caused by post acute viral illness. In 2021 following his first infection Sarah's previously healthy son developed Long Covid and PANS. Her daughter, who had pre existing ME but had been improving, also developed Long Covid following multiple Covid infections. Sarah is passionate about fighting for proper recognition and services for those with Long Covid in Ireland.
She has been a Long Covid advocate since 2020 and has worked with the Long Covid Kids organisation since summer 2021.
Sarah recently attended a hearing in the Irish government buildings to address TDs on the lack of services for Long Covid for those under 16 years of age.
