Sharon Humphries
Core Team Support
Sharrie qualified as a teacher in 2004 and has also worked as a childminder and nursery nurse. She has two daughters. Unfortunately, her youngest was very poorly with Covid in March 2020 and has not yet recovered. Sharrie has spent the majority of her time since then at home caring for her daughter, and has had to learn a lot about Long Covid along the way. She has recently returned to some part time teaching.
Sharrie was so grateful to the Long Covid Kids team for speaking out publicly that she was keen to use some of her time to support them and to advocate for the many children who have had their childhoods put on hold by this debilitating, and yet still poorly understood condition. She understands exactly how confusing and worrying this illness can be for children and their families.
Sharrie currently acts as an initial point of contact, responding to email and web messages received by the charity. She uses her experiences as a parent and teacher to support our community as well as other members of the team. She aims to keep up to date with paediatric Long Covid research and to share this on our website.
