Dr. Rae Duncan

MBChB, BSc (Hons), MSc, MD, FRCP, BSE, TTE. Accred, BSE TOE Accred, SCMR Level 3 Accred

Dr Duncan is a Senior Consultant Cardiologist having worked in cardiology for 19 years. In addition to her medical qualifications, she also has a degree in Virology/Immunology/Bacteriology and two postgraduate degrees in cardiovascular research. Dr Duncan is a former BSE Research Investigator Winner and a former RCP Presidents Gold Medal Award Finalist.

At the start of the pandemic, Dr Duncan was re-rolled to work with COVID patients. She has helped run an acute COVID ward, a Long Covid cardiovascular complications clinic, and is the recipient of a Clinical Excellence Award for her work with Long Covid patients.

Dr Duncan has experienced first-hand the devastating impact this virus can have on adults, children and families. She is a mother of 4 amazing kids and she and her children have now unfortunately been infected with COVID several times.

Dr Duncan is concerned about the lack of effective treatments in the UK for both adults and children suffering from Long Covid and the disheartening stories associated with families seeking treatment.

Laterally, Dr Duncan has become a member of an International Long Covid Research Collaboration spanning four continents. She is campaigning and working hard to try and bring Long Covid treatment trials for adults and children to the UK.
